Weverse Company (위버스 컴퍼니, stylized as WEVERSE COMPANY Inc.), formerly beNX Inc. ((주)비엔엑스) is a South Korean technology company. It was founded in 2018 by Bang Si-hyuk, being part of HYBE Platforms and the division of HYBE HQ, both owned by HYBE Corporation.

History[]

2018–2021: beNX Inc.[]

beNX Inc. was established in July 2, 2018 as a subsidiary of HYBE Corporation (formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment), one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea.[1] In June 2019, the company release its flagship mobile application, Weverse. The app serves as a social networking platform for fans of various K-pop groups and artists managed by HYBE Corporation, including BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, SEVENTEEN, GFRIEND, and several others.[2]

It allows fans to interact with each other, receive updates, and access exclusive content from their favorite artists. The creation of Weverse aimed to provide a dedicated platform for fan communication and content consumption. beNX Inc. quickly expanded its services beyond the app.[3] It partnered with other entertainment companies to bring additional artists and content onto its platform. Notable partnerships include those with Source Music (now a subsidiary of HYBE) for GFRIEND's fan community and Pledis Entertainment for SEVENTEEN's fan community.[4]

In October 2019, the company released Weverse Shop, an e-commerce platform integrated with the Weverse app. Weverse Shop allows fans to purchase official merchandise, albums, and concert tickets for their favorite artists directly through the app. In March 2020, Fast Company, an American economic media outlet, selected Hive as one of the ‘World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies of 2020’ and said of Weverse and Weverse Shop, "We will build a one-stop service for the music industry". Evaluated as a "leading platform", the innovativeness of the community platform Weverse and commerce platform Weverse Shop has received worldwide attention.

2021–present: Rebranded to Weverse Company[]

In addition to the app and e-commerce platform, Weverse Company released Weverse Magazine, a digital publication featuring exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and editorial pieces about HYBE artists and their activities. The company continues to innovate and expand its services to enhance fan engagement and provide unique experiences for users. This includes features like live streaming events, virtual fan meetings, and interactive fan challenges.[5]
